Mesolithic stone anvil
Elongated ovoid cobble, both faces of which bear concentrated percussive marks: off-centre of one face there are two (or three?) such concentrations both of which result in indented hollows, the deeper being 3.4mm in depth; the opposite face has an area of less concentrated pecking creating a shallower and irregular hollow roughly opposite the two on the other side. The perimeter of the piece is unmodified except for light percussion at one end. Hammer/anvil.
