S.S. BALTISTAN, glass negative

(6803gt) : Built 1937 by John Redhead & Sons of South Shields for the Strick Line (part of the P&O group). She was torpedoed and sunk in the Atlantic on 27th February 1941, by Italian submarine MICHELE BIANCHI, 400 miles west of Ireland, with the loss of her master, Capt. J.H. Hedley, 46 of her crew and four passengers.
