Baxter, Thomas (junior) (1782 - 1821)
Vase, hybrid-paste porcelain; bulging sides tapering to a flared base, tall neck flaring at lip, and two vertical loop handles applied at the shoulder with shaped terminals; lower half painted with large gilt foliate scrolls, enclosing scrolls of foliage incuding ivy, between vase and urn shaped motifs; upper half painted on one side with the goddess of war - Athene/Minerva, holding a spear and shield; other side painted with the muse Erato playing a lyre in front of a white and pink cloud; gilt handles, gilt lip.
