Baker, Bevans and Irwin, Glamorgan Pottery (1813-1839)
Plate, earthenware, circular shape with inset base, curving sides and spreading rim, the rim moulded with sprays of flowers, garlands and bows; transfer-printed in black and overpainted in red, pink, brown, black and yellow with to the centre of the well a scene of a small male figure leading a pony on which is seated a small female figure, above the scene is printed the inscription "Who Taught his Sisters first to ride / Who did the Little Poney guide / And with them every Gift divide / My Son", the moulded flowers and bows to the rim painted in red, yellow, brown and green, a brown band to the outer rim.
