Certificate appointing James Mummery to the position of additional officer of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. Dated 29th August 1944. Black print on cream paper, with handwritten details in black ink. Embossed seal of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in the top left corner. Also includes a brown envelope addressed to James Mummery O.B.E. at 32 Albany Road, Cardiff. Bottom left of the envelope is printed the address of the Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood. Stamped with London postmark in top right and stamped with 'Lord Chamberlain St James's Palace' in bottom left. Inside envelope is a piece of card and a blank piece of paper.
