Buddha, Blance de Chine, sitting cross-legged in the pose of contemplation on an oval pedestal base and leaning against a flat oval back that comes to a point and curls over the head of the buddha; the buddha is wearing traditional dress which is incised to create folds, on it's head is a beaded headdress applied in relief, the flat oval back is sprigged with leaves and lotus flowers in high relief.
