Yellow silk fan with painted flowers and wooden guards and sticks.
Tabby-woven silk (pale yellow) adhered to wood and hand painted with floral design in pink, red, yellow, brown, green and white (design is slightly off-centre, to the left of the fan). Narrow white lace is stitched to the unfinished upper and lower edges of the silk. A section of the selvage is visible on the left guard-stick.
Guards and sticks are of wood painted light sage green. Wood is subsequently embossed with silver design (sticks = sylised spiral and foliage, guards = blossoms, tendrils, foliage and butterfly on top). Sticks and guards are held together by an iron pin, finished off with 2 round, white bone (?) buttons. Brass hoop is attached to either side of pin for suspension.
