Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Plate, soft-paste porcelain with a creamy translucency; staning on a straight sided foot rim, curving into a rounded well with a straight everted, wavy lip; painted in enamels in the centre with a crest of an heraldic eagle with outspread wings, within the motto, 'MIGRO ET RESPICIO', on a surrounding puce garter; a wide gilt border of alternating anthemions, and stylised convolvulus flowers; plain gilt circular band in the cavetto, and to the lip.
