Roman samian bowl, decorated
Part of a complex vertical border survives, consisting of three parallel wavy lines and a wreath of chevron leaves. There is a figure type of a bestiarius to the left. The figure is O.1103. It is smaller than the Oswald drawing, but matches Knorr 1919, Taf. 34, 18, where it is given as a Germanus type. The style of our peice is that of Germanus: cf, the Drag.30 sherds illustrated on Knorr 1952, Taf. 67, D and F, which features the same figure type and similar composite borders.
Dr 30 is an approximately cylindrical decorated bowl (vase)
