Sugar bowl with cover
Sugar bowl and cover, hard-paste porcelain with white translucency, clear glaze, bulbous body rising to plain, slightly flaring rim, standing on three squat legs with out- and up-turned feet, cover with pronounced central dome and flower bud finial; moulded scrolls and scale patterns beneath and around rim and lip and around the edge of the cover, also framing two asymmetrical cartouches to each side of the body, each painted in polychrome enamels over the glaze, to one side is a scene of two hens by a log pile with a river and tower to the left, to the opposite side a scene with three pheasants with a church in the distance to the left, two cartouches on the cover of a white hen and a brown duck, enamelled floral sprigs around the body including some picking out moulded details, gilded at the lip, with moulded details picked out in gilt rims, legs and cartouches.
