Cup of soft-paste porcelain with creamy translucency; inset turned base, straight slightly tapering sides, plain loop handle; painted with a pink rose, and a cowrie shell and seaweed, with a gilt capital letter 'M' between; a gilt line round the base and the lip; gilt details on the handle and disguising a glaze flaw below the 'M'.
