Cup and saucer
Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Cup and saucer; soft paste porcelain; cup set on a straight sided foot rim, indented above curved sides with slightly flared lip, c-scroll handle closed above lip; saucer with a flat base and rounded sides; cup painted with a turquoise ground covered with Oeil de Perdix in gilt, two gilt scroll reserves around enamel sprays, handle is gilded with foliate design and edged in gilt; interior design of central enamel spray echoing those in the ouside reserves; saucer painted with a turqouise ground covered with Oeil de Perdix in gilt; three gilt scroll reserves around enamel sprays, and central circular reserve with enamel spray.
