Jug, creamware, inset base, barrel-shaped body, plain beak spout, plain loop handle; transfer-printed in black with to the front of the body the inscription "EVAN & ANN MORRIS / CARMARTHEN. / 1802" printed within a medallion of foliate garlands with a spray of flowers below, to one side of the body a scene showing two male figures dressed as sailors holding up an elaborate scrolled cartouche with a trident, a crown and pennants to the top of it and to the centre a boat resembling Noah's ark on an expanse of water, to either side of the scene are ships on an expanse of water, over the scene the inscription "THE SHIPWRIGHT'S ARMS" is printed on a scrolling banner with a spray of flowers above, to the other side of the body is a scene showing the hulk of a warship under construction flying the union jack from the bow and stern, and a sailing ship on an expanse of water, the scene enclosed within a scrolling cartouche with a spray of flowers above, a further spray of flowers below the handle.
