Jug, earthenware, standing on a spreading rounded slightly waisted foot-rim, bulbous body tapering inwards at the shoulder, cylindrical neck, elongated beak spout reeded underneath, plain loop handle broken and repaired; transfer-printed in black with to one side of the body a design composed of a sheaf of corn within a rococo shield shape surrounded by roses and thistles and with a collection of agricultural implements to one side, over the design is the inscription "OUR BREAD UNTAXED OUR COMMERCE FREE" printed in a scrolling banner, to the other side of the body a harbour scene with in the foreground a series of sacks piled up on a quayside on some of which are printed the inscriptions "CORN", "CORN / AV", and "CHEAP / CORN", behind the sacks the mast of a ship rises up flying pennants on which are printed the inscriptions "NO MONOPOLY" and "FREE TRADE", in the background a collection of buildings across an expanse of water and ships both under sail and at anchor, border to the interior and exterior neck and spout of arched panels enclosing alternating views of Windsor Castle and crowns within radiant halos, running border of acorns and oak leaves to the handle.
