Seal impression: Richmond Honour
A shield couchée per pale, dext. Per fess, in chief three legs conjoined, ancient arms of STANLEY; in base, quarterly, 1. and 4. On a bend three stags’ heads cabossed, STANLEY; 2. and 4. On a chief, indented , three annulets (for roundels) LATHOM (female line descended into the Stanley family); sin. quarterly 1. and 4. FRANCE (Modern), dext. 2. and 3. ENGLAND; within a border gobony, BEAUFORT. Crest: on a helmet, mantling and wreath, an eagle in its nest – preying on an infant in swaddling clothes, STANLEY (deriving from LATHOM). Foliage in field bears cinquefoil roses, slipped and leaved. Inner border cabled.
