Tea bowl and saucer
Tea bowl, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, rounded curving sides, slightly flaring lip-rim; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to either side of the exterior body of the tea bowl a European bird perched on a spreading branch, to the interior bottom of the bowl a floral sprig in puce, around the interior lip-rim a border of scrolled lines and foliate sprays in puce with gilt dots, a gilt edge to the lip-rim. Saucer, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, curving sides; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the centre of the well two European birds perched on spreading branches, around the rim a border of scrolled lines and foliate sprigs in puce with gilt dots, a gilt edge to the rim. The saucer broken and repaired.
