Tie

Rainbow tie worn by Mark Drakeford at various Pride, and LGBTQ+ related events, when he served as First Minister of Wales and Leader of Welsh Labour from 2018 to 2024. This tie became symbolic of his allyship to the LGBTQ+ community, and amongst others he can be seen in photographs wearing this at Pride Cymru in 2019, and Swansea Pride in 2023.

Under Mark Drakeford’s government we saw the launch of the LGBTQ+ Action Plan aiming to make Wales one the safest places in the world for LGBTQ+ people.

100% Polyester tie printed with narrow stripes in seven rainbow colours (including black). Black synthetic lining with pattern weave of small 'satin' diamonds on a tabby woven ground. White, non-woven synthetic interlining. Small self-fabric loop on reverse for feeding through the narrow end of the tie. Black woven care label on reverse of wider end of tie. Tie is hand-stitched together on back with long, loose slip stitches using black thread.
