Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'A Pair', showing an interior setting with the figures of an old man and an old woman seated at a table and playing cards while a dog rests at their feet and a further female figure knocks at a door in the background, around the bottom of the scene is the inscription "A PAIR", the print enclosed by a narrow circular dotted border. The glaze crazed.
