White nightdress with decorative pleating, whitework embroidery and lace on neck and cuffs. 3 self-fabric covered buttons (covered by facing) at centre front underneath V-shaped neck-opening. Narrow yellow silk ribbon threaded through lace surrounding neckline. (NOTE: On accession card, this ribbon is described as 'green' - i.e. it must since have faded to yellow.) Sleeves gathered at shoulder and cuffs, upper back also gathered.

Stitched label on inner neck with woven inscription (in purple): 'DORCAS CAMBRIC'; stitched label on inside of button facing with woven initials (in red): 'L.L.'
