Roman stone inscription (P.Sallienus Thalamus)
The top of the border and part of the bottom of the inscription are missing; when the stone was reused, a chamfer was cut on the upper part of the back
Geta’s name was damned after he was murdered by his brother Caracalla in 212, and has been erased. The legionary prefect Publius Sallienus Thalamus and his two sons are also named on an altar from Caerleon.
Found in 1603, outside the fortress
