Neolithic pottery vessel
Sherd in a soapy textured fabric, with inclusions up to 7mm across. The fabric is 10mm thick. The rim sherd is from a vessel with a diameter of c.200mm. The rim is inturned and has a vertical internal bevel. There are slight traces of a neck at the base of the sherd. The decoration comprises two vertical lines of short whipped cord maggots at the top and below this a zone of herringbone motif in the same technique.
