Early Medieval glass bead
Fragment of a cylindrical glass bead broken roughly in half, longitudinally. Red opaque glass with decoration on outer surface consisting of thin, incised transverse bands. The bands were once filled with contrasting coloured glass but only faint remnants ofyellow glass are observed in some of the bands. A large perforation runs the length of the bead through the centre.
