Fuddling-cup
Fuddling-cup of red earthenware, comprising a circular tubular ring stand, surmounted by five small bucket shaped cups, all with holes in the central well linking into the stand below; the sixth space taken by an upright tapering chimney-like spout, also connected, via a small hole in the base, to the tube below; the base and lower parts of the stand coated with an unglazed dark red slip, the upper parts with a rich dark brown glaze; the cups with the same glaze to the exteriors with unglazed sections in the lower interiors, the upper interiors having a thin light brown glaze.
