Seal impression: Scottish monastic
Within a two-storied niche of Renaissance style, upper: the Blessed Virign crowned, seated and supporting her Child; lower: a saintly abbot in pontificals (chasuble and dalmatic) with staff and book (for the Rule). In field, two shields: dext. SCOTLAND; sin (the shield borne on a pastoral staff) on a chevron three mullets, in base, a unicorn's head, KER. Below it arer the initials: M.K. (for Mark Ker,'commendatory abbot, c.1570-80).
