Scarf
Multi-coloured Fair Isle scarf, hand-knitted from lengths of wool cut from darning skeins during wartime shortages. Made in 1944 by Mrs W. Lacey, aged 14, in Llandaf North, Cardiff.
Mostly 2-ply wool, with some lengths of cotton. Seamed at back of neck. Double sided (seam at edge). Multi-coloured fringe at each end. Side seam is stitched mostly with blue, but also with red and pink thread.
