Roman samian bowl
Samian bowl sherd Dr.37. Central Gaul. Ovolo is double-bordered with a central projection, and a straight tongue ending in a ring, below this a fine beaded border. Three panels of decoration survive: (a) Pan, between astragalus borders which have a leaf tip (this sherd is missing); (b) double medallion containing Triton and rosette, beneath the medallion a bar; to right (c) dancing woman to left with draperies. In field a column ornament.
