Tile
Tile, buff-coloured earthenware, flat square shape; the upperside of the tile covered with a bluish-grey tin-glaze, this then transfer-printed in black with a scene showing a seated male figure teaching a group of three children in a garden setting with benches and trees, the scene enclosed by a square cartouche of foliate scrolls. The tile broken and repaired, a large chip is missing from one side of the tile.
