Dress, about 1850. Printed cotton. Light sage green ground with floral sprays overall in brown, blue-green, and red and blue. Plain round neck. Bell sleeves, trimmed with pleated double frill, selvage at frill edge. Bodice front trimmed with self fabric pleated and draped from shoulder, tapering to a point at waist front. Front fastening of 13 brass hooks and eyes. Natural waistline at back, rounded point at front. Waist edged with piping of self fabric. Bodice and sleeves lined with white cotton, sleeve self-faced. Full skirt, gathered into waist and fully lined with unbleached cotton. Original hemline has been shortened. Original hemline bound with green woollen braid. Single large white cotton pocket set into right hand side of waistline. Hole in front of skirt. Some wear at bodice edges and pleating.
