Medieval pottery jug
Remains of a medieval jug consisting of a rim sherd with a partial slash-decorated handle attached and body sherds including the base of a slashed strap handle. On the exterior just below the rim is a single horizontal band of finger-impression cordon. There is a light green glaze applied patchily to the exterior surface.

Site Name: Tredegar Park, Newport: Gwent
Date: 1977
Notes: Found on a housing site. Reportedly recovered in late 1977 during building operations near St. Joseph's School, Tredegar Park. The discovery of the pottery was only reported after work on the site was completed and there appears to be no additional information available concerning the find-spot itself.
