Oval with liner and straight sides, flat base and concave shoulder. Applied with a straight spout, scroll handle with outer spur issues from two sockets. The hinged lid is domed and surmounted by a flat oval finial. Dark chocolate japan, each side decorated with a view of Raglan Castle, painted in colours. Additional decoration of a continuous band of stars, loops and stripes in silver. The lid with star radiating from finial in silver. The application of a clear varnish has resulted in a golden tinged surface appearance. Black japan to handle and base.
