Pleistocene / Holocene mollusca shell
A shell (Tritia reticulata) with a possible anthropogenic perforation.
A mollusc (Tritia reticulata) shell likely of Upper Palaeolithic date (c.50,000-12,000 years ago) recovered during archaeological excavations of Long Hole Cave, Gower, Swansea in 2012. The shell has a perforation in its body-whorl that may have been intentionally made, suggesting it may have been used as a bead.
