Plate, Nantgarw porcelain, press-moulded, white body with good clear translucency and lustrous glaze, slight grey tinge, standing on a shallow foot rim, plain rim, the lip moulded in six large and six small lobes; painted in the centre with an exotic bustard-like bird, brindled brown and black, standing on a rock wreathed in flowers, a landscape with tree behind, all in an elaborate quatrefoil gilt cartouche comprising four rayed C-scrolls, containing sprays of polychrome flowers, and linked by large gilt scallops amid tulip sprays and ribbons, deckel gilding to lip.
