Plate, soup
Soup plate, hard-paste porcelain, circular shape with short cylindrical foot-rim, deep rounded sides and spreading rim, a shaped edge to the rim; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the centre of the well a medallion containing the entwined intials 'JC' surrounded by an inscription in Russian in a circle and enclosed by radiating yellow beams in a diamond shape, the rim painted with the ribbon of the Order of St. George in black and brown with a cross to one side and entwined by a wreath of leaves, a gilt edge to the rim which is very chipped in places. The foot-rim chipped, one side of the plate broken and repaired.
