Late Bronze Age / Early Iron Age bronze vessel
1 CuA possible cauldron brim fragment. The external edge has a convex curve, though is fairly corroded, making an accurate diameter measurement impossible. The opposite edge is bent over possibly with a concave curve, as if to form the interior edge of a brim, though it is again impossible to work out the internal brim diameter from the fragment remaining. One of the sides has a straight edge, indicating an original sheet edge. There are no corrugations on the sheet. One of the corroded holes next to the straight sheet edge may once have been a rivet hole. If this fragment was once a cauldron brim, then it would have derived from a Class B cauldron of unknown type. As such it could be dated to the Ewart Park or Llyn Fawr periods (950-600BC).
