Cup, coffee and saucer
Weesp (fl.1759-1770)
Coffee cup and saucer, hard-paste porcelain, coffee cup standing on a foot rim, tall sides tapered inwards at base, slightly everted lip, scroll handle; decorated in polychrome enamels opposite the handle with an exotic bird with orange, blue, purple and yellow feathers perching in a tree, rocks below, one orange flowered sprig, and one leaf, border of gilt lines with interweaving purple festoons and two large, green bows either side of handle. Saucer standing on a foot rim, spreading sides, decorated in the centre with an exotic bird with a pink body and a red head and tail and purple wings, rocks and plants below, border of gilt lines, interweaving purple festoons and two green bows.
