Medieval pottery jug
Two thumbed base sherds in a sandy orange-light brown fabric with thick grey core. The outer surface has a thick lead green glaze, one sherd shows signs that the glaze has run all the way to the bottom of the inside.

Notes: This represents a collection of old finds presented to NMGW by the Marquess of Bute in 1964. They purport to come from Cardiff Castle and the religious houses of Blackfriars and Greyfriars.
