M.V. LYLE PARK, glass negative

Hansen, Leslie W.

Starboard broadside view of M.V. LYLE PARK at Cardiff Docks.

The 5,629 gross ton motor vessel Lylepark, built at Glasgow in 1951, photographed in the Queen Alexandra Dock, c. 1952. She was owned by the Denholm Line of Steamers Ltd., originally established at Greenock in 1866 by James Denholm, who was later joined by his brother John. The Lylepark was sold to Liberian interests in 1962, but Denholms are still in business today, owning two bulk carriers and managing a substantial fleet of vessels for owners world-wide.
