Roman copper alloy seal box lid
Silvered bronze seal-box lid with charging boar, the emblem of the Twentieth Legion.
Small round, with a separately manufactured figure of a wild boar attached to the center. On the front the outer edge is defined by a moulding pronounced with a similar concentric mould, separated from the outer moulding by a groove. Inside the inner moulding there is a light concentric ridge with leaf-shaped recesses on both sides, whose ends of the wild boar figure overlap on both sides. The boar itself is a lively figure with both pairs of legs somewhat extended and the head slightly lowered as if to charge.
