Cup, tea and saucer

Coalport

Tea cup, soft-paste porcelain, short foot-rim, wide shallow bulbous body, flaring lip, high loop handle; painted in pink and green enamels and gilt with to the interior bottom of the cup a large group of roses, around the upper interior sides a wide border with three groups of roses against an elaborate background of leaf and scroll patterns in gilt, around the exterior sides a border in gilt of a plain band above a stylized floral pattern, a gilt line around the foot-rim, a gilt dentil edge to the lip-rim, the handle gilt. Saucer, soft-paste porcelain, shallow form with short foot-rim, curving sides and spreading rim; painted in pink and green enamels and gilt with to the centre of the well a large group of roses, around the sides of the well a wide border of four groups of roses against an elaborate background of leaf and scroll patterns in gilt, a gilt dentil edge to the rim.
