Medieval ceramic floor tile

Lewis Group 53 No. 753

Line impressed continuous design: similar to 752 except that one of the grid lines is broken at the crossing Complete square tile. Damaged upper surface, likely firing scars. Upper surface has patchy white slip under a yellowish green glaze. Glaze drips on two sides and lower tile surface. Further firing scars on the lower tile surface. Dark brown glaze.
