Slate wagon
Slate rubbler's wagon, with one open end. Mounted on a wooden frame by means of eight bolts. Axle journals are also bolted to frame. Wheels are double-flanged, with curved spokes, and are a loose fit on their axles to allow for poorly-gauged trackwork. Wagon body bears four lifting rings, and is badly dented in places.
Used at Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda. This wagon is believed to predate all-iron and all-steel wagons.
