Vase, compressed Krater form, glazed hard-paste porcelain; circular, low waisted body, flaring rim, two reeded S-scroll handles terminating in pendent bunches of grapes, trumpet stem and folded foot on a low square plinth; the body painted with a continous still-life of flowers in brilliant colours against a dark shadowy ground, including pink roses, orange lily, convolvulus, tulips, michaelmas daisy, bluebells etc, and a snake advancing on a birds nest containing three eggs, the exterior gilded, lip and foot with band of matted acanthus and anthemia, and matted paterae and foliage to lower body, broad band of gilding to upper wall of interior; gilt vine wreaths around ormolu rosette terminal to fixing rod to foot.
