Teapot and cover, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a foot rim, globular body, up-turned spout springing from a mask, griffin-like head to spout end, c-scoll handle, domed cover with pagoda-shaped finial; decorated in polychrome enamels with two scenes, one of three chinoisierie figures, one holding a tree, two opposite each other on a table, one holding a cup, the other a pipe, the other scene of four chinoiserie figures, two around a table, one standing by a tree, one behind a table, both within gilt, shaped cartouches, surrounded by a border of stylised flowers, painted mask with iron-red and purple scrolling underneath handle and above spout, gilding to foot rim, handle, spout and shoulders; cover decorated with two scenes, one of a figure seated, another on the ground, the other of two figures kneeling before a table, gilding to lip and finial.
