Sampler
LINEN, unbleached, embroidered with coloured silks and cottons and red wool in cross stitch. At the top, in three rows commencing with a cross, are Gothic letters of the alphabet followed by the name and date "a. van. ootegem. 1839”. Below are various Designs – crosses (one with the letters “t v m”, on its base) a monstrance, a star, candlesticks, hearts, dogs, birds and flowering plants. There is a narrow varied border.
