Jug
Jug, or large mug, grey stoneware, standing on a waisted foot with rounded foot rim; globular body, cylindrical neck with pronounced rilling, flanged lip rim, perhaps intended to support metal rim; small loop handle with v-shaped ridge at lower terminal; the exterior covered with a dark manganese black-brown wash covered with a heavy salt-glaze giving a distinct orange-peel effect; the central body applied with a relief-stamped medallion, a six petalled star-like flower within a dentil-moulded circular border.
