Plate, soft-paste porcelain, circular shape with rounded foot-rim, cushion-moulded sides and spreading rim, the rim moulded with a basketwork pattern and with a shaped edge; decorated in polychrome enamels in the Kakiemon style with to the centre of the well a version of the 'banded hedge and squirrel' pattern, showing a conventionalised vine, and a squirrel and another animal leaping over banded hedges, around the sides of the well and the rim sprays of oriental flowers, insects and exotic birds.
