Late Bronze Age bronze casting jet
Casting jet - South Wales Type socketed axe
Half fragment of four runner casting jet, oval in shape with a dished concave upper surface. Irregular shaped perforation through centre. Jet tapers inwards in profile with a convex curve to form an oval shaped underside. Two straight runners visible on this half fragment. Runners removed very close to mouth of socket of the axe as indicated by their length and enlarged dimensions at base. Green patina.
