Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Plate, soft-paste porcelain with a white translucency; standing on a tapering foot rim, curving into cushion moulded and straight spreading sides with waved lip, with six large and six small lobes; painted with an Empire style wide border, of red scrolling foliage and green leaves, between alternating gilt foliate swags below a stylised tulip-like flower, and a gilt anthemion emerging from a tapering vase; plain gilt circular bands in the centre, and to lip.
