apparently any example of the naval gambling-game known as Crown and Anchor; comprises thin green-coloured oilskin cloth and three ivory dice; hand-painted on one side of the cloth are six rectangular boxes, each containing one of six symbols (crown, anchor, heart, diamond, spade, club), and in the centre of the cloth are painted the words TAMMY FAIRPLAY; the same six symbols appear on the respective faces of the dice cubes
