Jug, earthenware, standing on a flattened-off foot-rim, pear-shaped body, tapering at shoulder, plain upright raised spout, the handle broken off; transfer printed in brown and overpainted in red, blue, puce, yellow and green with to the sides of the body the 'Birds' pattern, two different scenes showing an exotic bird perched against a background of foliage and distant mountains, a running shamrock leaf border to the exterior lip-rim and spout issuing sprays of exotic foliage with flower heads and small parrot-type birds interspersed in it, running shamrock border to the interior lip-rim, issuing a pendulate line and dot pattern.
